How did the assembly "Rachel's Legacy" effect you?  If you could name ONE thing, what legacy would you like to leave behind?

If I were to leave ONE legacy behind, it would be that of kindness. Not to copy what was said in the assembly, but kindness sticks with people. They remember when you help them out and fix their day. That's lasting.

Personaly, I thought that having a second assembly on Rachel's Challenge was not as effective as the first. I thought that the first time was more emotional. One thing I would like to leave behind as my legacy is how much the majority of my teachers know me to be very responsible, so that when my younger brother comes to the school, he can build off of me.

if I were to leave one legacy it would that i didnt follow the crowd and was an individual. Being your own person can help you be a good person you have to respect yourself before other will respect you

The assembly this time around wasnt as emotion. but it still got the message across and was effective in connecting to the audience. The legacy i would like to leave behind is a legacy of acceptance. i do not judge someone before i at least spend 5 minutes with them. i think everyone has good in them and they deserve a chance.

Since this was the second time that i attended the Rachel's Challenge program, it wasn't very effective. The program was able to reiterate the five challenges, and about why Rachel's Challenge was started, but it wasn't effective. For anyone who attended the first program, Rachel's Legacy felt like another lecture about why everyone should be kind to one and another. If I were to leave a legacy, I would want to leave a legacy about my enthusiasm for the fine arts and my time participating in art club.

I happened to miss the previous presentation of Rachel's Challenge, and the effect would have been much stronger on me had I not been sitting next to a particular group of students who refused to stay quiet and leave the surrounding people alone during the assembly, so something was lost for me there.

I would like to leave behind a legacy of happiness--I love to make people laugh (with jokes that DON'T insult others), and it is well-known that one small action can completely turn an unhappy day around for the better, whether you're aware of the person's bad day or not, I want to be known as the one who was able to make others happy in little ways.

i think it was sad to herad her story and its a shame she had to died it effected me alot cuz it made me realize that name calling and all that stuff isnt good to do to others because i wouldnt like to be in that postion if i didnt fit in but if i had to leave one legacy i would leave happiness and kindness i know i aint the best person but i could change that before i died

Her story was really touching and i thought it was awesome that her brother is spreading her story. I understnad that they are people that have feeling build up and it is not right to call people names because you dont know how those people are going to react and how they are going to act on that. One legacy i would like to leave behind would be me being know as a nice kid and always respectful to my peers

one legacy i would want to leave behind is that i was a leader not a follower and cared about what other people thought

I believe that this story was bs. I mean i understand why the want to spead the word. but no one is going to change if they dont want to. i mean dont get me wrong. i feel sorry for what happen. i do have a heart. but i believe that no one is going to change if they dont want too. that they can feel sad and sorry. but action speaks louder than words.
and if i could leave one legacy behide it would be that i was true to who i was. even if i was a bitch, or if i wasn't like. i was true to myself. because in the end of the day i only have myself to depend on. and i don't even care what my classmates think of me.

I feel that you should be kind because you want to, not because you have to. True kindness is not doing acts to be notice but doing them without seeing the advantages in the end. Rachel was a nice girl who accepted people who they were and her story was beautiful, it's just sad that it can't connect with more people since she was placed on a pedestal since her life was perfect. I have read a story about another girl who got shot during the incident, but she was more relateable. She made bad decision, but in the end she was a good person. It's more of a religious story, but still one who is going through an experience like hers can see her as a role model.
The presentation didn't effect me. I'm not saying that I am a "saint", but I'm just a nicer person then most and I stand up for what I believe for. I worked hard to be my true self and my legacy will live on through the accomplishments that I have made throughout my high school career. If not then I will still strive to leave something for my grandchildren to be proud of, but that's more of a long term goal.

Rachel's legacy helps everyone everyday. Her message has helped me with my own personal issues and saved me from the darkest times of my life. I have never judged anyone and I would stay true to who I am as a person for my legacy.

Rachel's story is definitely inspiring, but I found the assembly to be less emotional and powerful than the assembly two years ago. The main message of kindness is noble, but loses its point if it has to be shoved down someone's throat. For those that already attempt to show kindness in their everyday lives the message was probably embraced. Unfortunately this means that the message can't quite reach those that it is truly meant for. If I could leave one legacy behind I would hope that it would be one of kindness. I'd like to be known as someone who would always put the needs of others ahead of her own.

I did not see the second assembly. But I've heard that is was very similar to the first assembly. Rachael's story is very inspiring and heart breaking at the same time. One legacy that I think should be left behind is to treat others how you would like to be treated. If you and nothing but rude and nasty to someone how can you expect anything but that in return? And I think once you make eye contact with someone you should smile. I'm sure it makes people feel better once they receive a smile (:

I think the assembly had a good message behind it but the thing is people wont chance unles they want to. The legacy iwould like to leave behind is that iwas a genuine person who cared for others

The Rachel's Legacy assembly had a fantastic message of what the effect of doing good deeds and random acts of kindness can have on other individuals. It made me reflect on the acts of kindness I have done and how I could make a positive impact on the community. The one legacy that I would leave behind is to always stay positive.

I enjoyed the assembly. People don't realize how something as simple as a smile and a hello can really change a person's day. And in the end we are all humans, so it shouldn't be that difficult to smile and say hello to someone who is feeling down or even someone who isn't, because they may not be showing it. Realizing that someone cares and that someone notices you're there alone can make them feel just a touch better. Just embrace life and be kind to others and you will in the end feel better about yourself. At the end of the day it is a win-win situation, and nothing feels better. I never want anyone to feel like they are invisible and that they don't matter. EVERY PERSON IS A BEAUTIFUL INDIVIDUAL. I truly believe that you can only be kind to others when you are kind to yourself and everyone can do it. The legacy I hope I would leave behind is that even though I might not have been the happiest person, I was the one who always worried about others before him/herself and always tried to make others smile :)

The two Rachel's challenge assemblies have had major impacts on me. Rachel was such an inspiring individual. The way she helped people and put their needs before hers is something to be admired. The assembly always makes me emotional. It feels awful that such a lovely person had to die in such a horrible way. I would like to leave a legacy of kindness and respect. No one is perfect, but I hope that I am remembered as an invididual who respected other people and treated them with kindness. I think the Rachel's challenge assembly's goal was to make people strive to leave that kind of a legacy, a legacy like Rachel's.

The assembly really did not affect me at all. I think it was unnecessary to have a second one considering it was just Craig dancing for most of the time. I was extremely bored during the assembly. People know the difference between being a good person and not, it's common sense. Everyone has the power to change, it's completely in a person's own hands. If I could leave one legacy behind, it would be that I was always a friendly person with a huge heart.

The idea behind Rachel's challenge is the same lesson that has been repeated to us since kindergarten. If people can not understand it over the span of 17 years, then one, "emotional" assembly will not create any kind of great resonance. That being said, even the emotional messge has a reasonable place, and while it is not something I enjoy, it is something I can grin and bear. However, when the supernatural aspect was brought in, I.E. She predicted her own death, she knew, etc, that's when I have a serious problem.

i think rachaels challenge left a big impact on me an a lot others. i do feel like the first one was very emotional the second one not so much. They were very impacting but the first one really left people thinking how can i change myself to bee more like rachael. The legacy i want to leave on Roxbury High School is always be there for other people nooooo matter what!

To be completely honest, Rachael's challenge did not affect me in a big way at all. I only say this because everything that was said in that assembly is common sense. You are supposed to do good deeds and random acts of kindness whenever you can. I personally do these things everyday. I love keeping a smile on my face and helping others out, it makes me feel happy. I'm not saying the assembly was bad or anything, it displayed a fantastic message, but it just did not affect me. If I had one legacy to leave behind, it is to let everyone know that something as simple as a smile could make anyone's day. That's why I always smile at everyone.

The assembly affected me in a big way. Not because they told me to do good deeds and and say kind words (I've been taught that enough before) but I was amazed at how in Rachels final words she told the killer that she still believed in god. If I was to leave behind a legacy I would want to be remembered as a really friendly kid
